WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY CLEANING?

Eco-friendly cleaning, also known as sustainable cleaning, involves using products and materials that minimize environmental impact. Guidelines have even been established for environmentally friendly cleaning. Think about using less (hot) water, measuring out cleaning products, and avoiding chemical products like certain aerosols.

As a cleaning company, you can go a long way with just a few simple adjustments. While a typical cleaning crew uses only biodegradable cleaning products, at Earthly Touch Consultants we go the extra mile toward environmentally conscious cleaning. Read below to find out how we do this

Disposable cloths:

We use disposables for cleaning. These are biodegradable cloths that we use only once. Afterward, the cloths are thrown away and break down naturally. This not only improves hygiene, but it also saves a lot of water because we don’t wash them. Logistically, we don’t have to collect the used cloths, further reducing our environmental impact.

High-pressure units:

Another great example is the high-pressure unit we use for facade cleaning . These machines use fewer diesels and are therefore less harmful to the environment. With the high-pressure unit, we adjust the pressure and temperature. This means we need much less water, and the high temperature eliminates the need for cleaning agents. During cleaning, we carefully monitor the amount of wastewater released into the environment. For example, when we remove graffiti by spraying it from facades. As much of the wastewater as possible is collected in collection containers. We transport these containers to the municipality, which then disposes of them. Good to know: we drive electric vehicles and are therefore environmentally conscious.

Fewer cleaning products

We’re not just limiting our product use during facade cleaning; we use fewer cleaning products throughout our entire service. For example, our mop system uses a highly concentrated product. We spray it onto the floor and it cleans extremely effectively. This not only reduces our environmental impact, but also reduces the need for periodic scrubbing. This, of course, saves money. It’s a win-win for you and for us. We’re transparent about the cleaning products we use: no ammonia, methylated spirits, or chemicals. Our warehouse only stocks biodegradable products.

Demineralized water: Our window cleaners.

Clean windows using a telewash system. They use demineralized water, or decalcified water. The major advantage is that the water dissolves dirt more effectively, so no cleaning agents are needed. It also prevents limescale buildup on the windows and dries streak-free and colorless.

Are there any exceptions?
Occasionally, we need to use chemicals for facade cleaning to ensure a spotless result. Even then, we’re committed to environmentally conscious cleaning and use as little product as possible to protect the environment.
